Hello,
I am a life long reader. As long as I can remember I've had my nose buried in a book. After having two children I was looking for a career change and becoming a library technician seemed an obvious choice. I have worked in many different libraries in my career including legal, elementary, high school, public libraries and even a book store. I've reviewed books on this blog for over 10 years now. I previously reviewed books for our local newspaper until it was outsourced to the big city paper. I love talking about books and helping others find a perfect read. I mostly read fiction including literary fiction and romance - I love a happy ending. Occasionally I will read a mystery if it's not too gory. I love children's books!
Recently I achieved a bucket list item when we built a library in our new home - complete with a rolling ladder. These days I look for any excuse to climb the ladder and grab a book from the top shelf.
I have had the wonderful opportunity to meet some of my favourite authors. Our local library does an amazing job at bringing big name authors to our community. If there's a book conference nearby for sure I will be there. In the past I have met Margaret Atwood, Jodi Picoult, Dave Pilkey, Lisa Genova and many more.
